The reason of the existence of this gallery is close to the origin and present of all this process. The origin, because the painting collections that I inherited left me no other choice than to dedicate my efforts to the works of Figari. The present, because I could hardly do my job without the help of the show-case the gallery is.

Over twelve years ago, with the house in its neverending refurbishment process, the concept and the word gallery were already there, even if its function wasn’t definite, and it could have even been commercial.

The actual appearance responds to the neighbouring lot that I was able to incorparate to the original one, and the final function, once the commercial aspect was discarded, was to be able to be able to show the pictures as has been the custom in my family (my grandmother hung ninety of them in her apartment), adding now security, appropriate lighting and hygiene: filtered ventilation and absence of fumes of cigarrettes, cooking or fireplaces.

         As to the collection, I think that the choice of subjects is wide enough to give a panorama of Figari’s work, even if his own choice was so wide that one gallery alone would never be enough; besides, it needn’t be a stable selection, and I might be able to hang more pictures than the ones already loaned.

Since the first day the gallery has been open to visitors, who must only make an appointment previously.
